There are many webmasters who are looking into ways to increase traffic and on how to obtain a higher page rank for their websites. I myself have many websites which I am always looking to promote.

Whether your site is to do with flyer printing, training for foster carers or any other subject it is essential to attract as many visitors as possible.

PPC

Pay per click is where you agree to pay a certain amount of money when people click on an advert that you have created. Programs such as adwords from the search engine Google allow you to place an advert on the right hand side of their search results. You will be placed higher the more you are willing to spend as it is based on a form of auction. Be careful not to spend more on the adverts than you are likely to receive in income. This can be very popular especially if your website is fairly new and is low down in the natural search results.

Writing articles

I believe that the best forms of web promotion is by writing articles like the one you are reading. People reading the articles are potential visitors to your website, as you are able to include a link to your website in the article. When a webmaster decides to include the article on their website it means that you gain a backward link via the author bio box which is placed towards the end of the article. Google are more likely to increase your page rank if you have a large number of backward links, especially one way links.

Link exchange program

As I have just stated, it is vitally important to spend time building up the number of backward links your website has. Joining a link exchange program can seriously reduce your workload, and people have told me that linkmetro is quite good.

SEO Techniques That Work

If you are wondering which is the best way or even how you reach number one or the top ten in the search engines, then this is the article for you.

I do not think that it is all that difficult in truth. As long as you have a well designed and optimised website the most important thing you need is backward links and lots of them. These links should have different link texts which even though different will always include your keyword. For example if the keyword is stuttering the link text could be, stuttering therapy, stuttering information, stuttering treatment, stuttering help or stuttering advice. For office furniture it could be composite doors, upvc doors or front doors and for DVD authoring it could be DVD authoring service.

You can obtain a 1-way link or a reciprocal link. A lot of people make the fatal error of obtaining many reciprocal links but hardly any or even none, one way links. This is not a good idea and it is not exactly the best form of link building, you may even be penalised by the search engines for this.

Reciprocal links

It is very natural for a website to have many reciprocal links as long as they also have lots of one way links. This can be a very slow and painful process plus rather frustrating.

One way links

Where possible it is of far greater benefit to obtain a one way link. Some people choose to purchase a link on a high ranking page of a website as it can be difficult to persuade a webmaster to include your link for no reason or benefit to them.

For me the best way of obtaining one way links is by writing articles like the one you are reading.Other webmasters are free to include this content on their blogs and sites as long as they keep the links to your websites intact.

Which Are The Best Ways To Promote A Website?

Webmasters are often keen to find new ways of obtaining additional traffic to their site/sites. We all would like to see more traffic, however what are the best ways to promote a website, which does not cost an arm and a leg?

1. Pay per click advertising.

Pay per click advertising is becoming more and more popular with programs such as Google adwords reporting bigger profits on a regular basis. This is a way of getting your website on the first or second pages by you paying an advertising fee. You are able to bid an amount which is affordable to you however to obtain the number one placement for your advertisement may well cost you a lot of money. When people then click on your advert they then are diverted to your website but this obviously comes at a cost to yourself.

2. Writing articles.

Article Marketing such as this one is a very popular form of web promotion. Other webmasters are able to use your articles on their website which gives you an extra backward link as you are able to add you website address at the bottom of the article. Then there are the people who read the articles that you have written; they could be reading them via a search engine or even on the article marketing websites themselves; either way they could well click on your website link and become a visitor to your site. I have had great success with article marketing when promoting my Medical negligence claims and upvc doors websites.

3. Obtaining backward links.

If you are looking to increase your search engine position it is a good idea to try to increase the amount of backward links you have. Before you think that you have conquered the world I must pre-warn you; this is far from easy to accomplish as there are very few webmasters who are happy to add a link on to their websites. It is worth making a few phone calls or sending a few e-mails and asking the question, if the person would like to exchange links. It is of more value to have a link from a website in the same type trade of your own.

4. It is a good idea to include the domain of your website in any advertising that you do.

Wherever you advertise it is important to include your website domain address, and also at the bottom of any e-mails you send.

Link Build The Way The Experts Do

I would have to say that the majority of people that I have met have very much a “get rich quick” philosophy when it comes to the internet. They are seeking virtually instant results and when they do not manage to achieve this they become despondent and then lose their drive. As an example I have introduced many people into article marketing, after all it has worked very well for me. After a little bit of explaining and tutoring these webmasters are quickly up to speed and ready to roll. Over the next six to eight weeks these webmasters will on average write 40 articles each. At this stage they comment that their website is not ranked as high in the search engines as they would have hoped and that they have not attracted the amount of additional traffic that they thought they would have.

So what happens next? Well they have not achieved the results that they had expected and are quickly losing interest. I would then attempt to talk them round by explaining the positive results that I have had via article marketing but guess what? Yes they stop writing articles. If they do not have the time or energy to continue writing themselves they could have hire an article submission service - but many of them just give up.

But lets just say that these people hadn’t have had such a short term attitude and had continued to write and submit articles - what would the results have been? In my opinion they would be dominating their niche, such as offering cheap holidays, as long as they are also learning about other forms of website promotion and applying them.

Web promotion and link building should, without doubt, be seen as a long term project. Yes we all want to see positive results quickly to give us a confidence boost but as long as we are doing the writing things, SEO wise, then we will succeed our goal of high rankings in the search engines.

The Power Of Obtaining Backward Links

I am sure that most people who have a website are looking into ways to help them to attract more people to read their site. So what are the best options to do this? Well for me it is essential to obtain good quality one-way links pointing to your site, links that are relevant to your own site. The question is how do we obtain these links?

It is always best to try to get other websites from the same industry as your own to add a link to your site on their site (on the homepage if possible). This is not as easy as it might seem as most of these people will be reluctant to do so. I have, in the past, spent hours phoning and e-mailing the webmasters from different sites which are in a similar field to my own site. Even when only one person agreed to my request after phoning up thirty people, I was happy. I am hoping that the link will stay on this site for a very long time, the longer it does the more value it will be worth to me. This is the value of any backward link. If the page where my link has been added is a high traffic page or has a high page rank value then I am even more fortunate. As an example the link would be of far greater value to my site if it was placed on a page with a page rank five rather than a page with a page rank two.

How many backward links should I be aiming to obtain?

In my humble opinion you have to be careful not to build up the number of these backward links too quickly. It should be an ongoing project throughout the life of the website, this is the art of any decent web promotion service. If as an example you are able to obtain ten every week for five years, this would be superb. Where it can go wrong is if you obtain:

In the first week around ten

none in weeks two, three and four

three hundred in week five

none in weeks six, seven and eight

two hundred in week nine

This could well cause you a few problems as this is not exactly a regular pattern, or at least it will not be in the eyes of Google and could well raise a red flag. This could quite easily raise a red flag with the search engines.

There is no quick fix, hard work pays off and we all need to have patience. I always look to the long term and believe in time the work I put in today will be of great benefit to me tomorrow.

Other ways of obtaining links is by:

Writing articles - possibly by using an article submission service

Purchasing a text link ad

I personally prefer the article marketing option; this is something that has worked for me over a sustained period of time. It can be quite boring to write these articles in some peoples opinion and in a way I agree. There is no gain without pain as my gym instructor once said; and let’s face it writing articles each and every day can be quite painful in the brain development sense. I try to ensure that each article that I write is informative and offers the reader some hopefully good advice. I am somebody who now understands the full value of article marketing and this has enabled me to become far more dedicated than I used to be. I now write, on average, thirty articles per month. It does not really matter what type of website you have whether it is to do with composite doors, regarding cheap mobile phone calls or about training for foster carers, article marketing works.

I wish you every success with your link building campaign.
